QMap for the Mobility Data Lab

Information derived from mobility data did not come to a halt even during the pandemic. In these exceptional circumstances, QMap provided the algorithms for processing and visualizing traffic data for the Mobility Data Lab, a new project created by Infoblu and Octo Telematics.

Designed with the aim of supporting the restart of our country through the study of mobility scenarios, the Mobility Data Lab is structured to provide up-to-date data on road traffic trends involving both people and goods, offering a snapshot of the state of mobility in Italy during the current emergency caused by the spread of Covid-19 and comparing it with previous scenarios.

“We believe that the current situation has created such extraordinary circumstances that defining and analyzing travel patterns has become even more important in order to help understand which smart mobility policies need to be implemented, both during the emergency phase and during the nationwide recovery phase,” commented Eng. Mauro Nesti, CEO of QMap, who concluded: “With this in mind, we simply felt it was our duty to make a contribution based on our expertise and experience. Our cartographic servers, which are already part of the Public Administration network, given the circumstances, could also prove useful for new areas of application.”
